Woman charged with murder in shooting death of man in SW Charlotte: Police

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A woman has been charged with murder in connection to the deadly shooting of a man in southwest Charlotte, CMPD announced Thursday.

Olivia Nicole Cain, 20, has been charged with felony first-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Bryan Miller Eakin.

According to CMPD, the case was originally classified as a death investigation before evidence showed the shooting was a homicide. Cain was taken into custody on Wednesday, May 1.

The fatal shooting happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, April 28, in the 7800 block of Douglas Drive. As officers arrived at the scene, they found Eakin who had been shot.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Medic.

Cain is currently being held at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center without bond.
