Woman crashes vehicle into CVS at 10th, Lapeer in Port Huron

The CVS pharmacy at 10th Street and Lapeer Avenue in Port Huron was closed Friday afternoon after a customer crashed her vehicle into the store's entrance.

Port Huron Police Lt. James Gilbert said officers received the crash report around noon, arriving to find a brick pillar on the front of the store damaged, 940 Lapeer Ave.

He said the driver, an 88-year-old woman from Port Huron Township, appeared to have been parked in front of the store and accidentally accelerated forward when her foot slipped off the brake.

There were no signs of alcohol or drug use, Gilbert said.

There were also no injuries as a result of the crash.

The 10th Street CVS is located at 940 Lapeer Ave. and typically carries hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

No further information was immediately available.
