Woman critically injured in crash Wednesday near Hudsonville

Nearly seven years since the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said it would add body cameras, the department still doesn’t have the technology nor dashcams on deputies’ cruisers.

BLENDON TWP. — A woman was critically injured in a crash near Hudsonville on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

It happened around 5:10 p.m. on 48th Avenue near Tyler Oaks Drive in Blendon Township. A driver was leaving a driveway and failed to yield right of way, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said in a release. She crashed with another car, driven by a 20-year-old woman from Lambertville.

The first driver, a 32-year-old Hudsonville woman, was pinned in her car. She was freed and brought to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities said the other driver was treated at the scene and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
