Investigators with the ISP Crash Reconstruction Team said a southbound Ford Transport van driven by Tatyanna Myers, 24, of Lithonia, Georgia, was southbound on the federal highway when it crossed the center line and collided with a northbound Ford Focus driven by Starkey.

Myers and a female passenger in her van were taken to the Muncie hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision — reported about 2:30 p.m. — remains under investigation. U.S. 35 was closed to traffic for about four hours after the crash.

Along with state police, those responding to the scene included Delaware County sheriff's deputies, Delaware County EMS, the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency, and firefighters from Liberty Township and Muncie.
