Woman dead in fall at US-Mexico border

SAN DIEGO — A woman was found dead Friday in a fall from the U.S.-Mexico border wall, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 2:36 p.m. at Drucker Lane and Siempre Viva Road in Otay Mesa, the San Diego Police Department told FOX 5.

The woman had to scale two major walls, one that was 17 feet and another, the one she fell from, that was 30 feet, according to police.

There has been a 162% increase in falls and severe and fatal injuries in the last three years, according to Consulado General De Mexico.

Her death remains under investigation.
