Detective Crystal Beck with Brigham City Police told ABC4.com that officers responded to the 911 call and met with the husband at a residence that morning. Beck said the woman went missing in the morning and was later found in the creek.

“Officers pulled her from the creek and Brigham City ambulance transported her to an area hospital, where unfortunately she was pronounced deceased,” Beck said.

Neighbors in the area told ABC4.com that they saw first responders lining up and down the street during the incident.

“I was actually visiting with a neighbor, and a lot of sirens went off, so we came out to see what was going on,” nearby resident Thom Spencer said. “I could see them lifting a body out of the creek, and it was apparent it was a woman, but the police very quickly shooed me away.”

Police said they are not releasing the identity of the woman at this time, and officials say the incident is still under investigation.

“It’s a shock, definitely,” Spencer said. “Everybody has been surprised and concerned, trying to find out exactly who it is.”
