Woman dies after being hit by car in St. Clair County
A Cahokia Heights woman died after she was struck by a vehicle shortly before midnight Thursday.
St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as Bridget Luster, 55.
Luster was hit at 57th Street and Bond Avenue at about 11:48 p.m., Cahokia Heights Police Detective DeMarius Thomas said.
She was found lying in the roadway, when responding officers arrived. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and talked to police, Thomas said.
The person who notified police of the collision said they heard the crash, but he did not see it, Thomas said.
