At least nine people have been killed as protests intensify in Iran over the death of a woman in police custody. The public outcry started after 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was killed after being held by police for allegedly violating the country's strictly enforced dress code by not wearing a hijab correctly. Mahsa's death has sparked demonstrations and clashes with Iranian security forces in about a dozen cities, including in the U.S. Iranian Americans are taking to the streets in New York City, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles.
