Woman dies after falling from porch in Central Falls; man still critical

CENTRAL FALLS – A woman who fell from a third-story porch in Central Falls Monday morning has died, the police said.

She was identified as Marisol Winns, 43, according to a press release from Central Falls Police Maj. Christopher Reed.

Winns and a man were found unconscious on a Ledge Street sidewalk Monday morning, and both were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Central Falls detectives were notified at 7 p.m. Wednesday that Winns had been declared dead by the state Medical Examiner's Office, Reed said.

The man, identified as Aaron Carpenter, 40, remains in critical condition at the hospital, the police said.

The police are still investigating how the incident, at 12 Ledge Street, happened. The police ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact the Central Falls Police Department at (401) 727-7411 or the TIPS line at (401) 727-7420. The police say all calls will remain anonymous.
