Woman dies in hospital two days after Montgomery car crash

A 42-year-old woman who suffered life-threatening injuries in a Montgomery crash this week has died in a local hospital, authorities said.

Ashley Thompson was driving a 2006 Chevy HHR LT that crashed in the area of East Boulevard near Hitching Post Lane, police said. The Montgomery Police Department and fire medics responded to the single-vehicle collision at about 5:50 p.m. Monday and found Thompson with severe injuries, Maj. Saba Coleman said in an email.

First responders transported Thompson to the hospital where she died Wednesday.

Prattville man Joshua Cortezie, 35, died at the scene of the collision Monday evening.

Police did not immediately release any other information about the crash.
