Woman drives SUV into Brighton pond

BRIGHTON - A woman drove her car into a pond near the Big Boy Wednesday afternoon, according to Brighton Police Chief Brent Pirochta.

At about 1:15 p.m., the Brighton Police Department and the Brighton Area Fire Department responded to a vehicle that went into a pond near Challis Road and Library Drive.

The driver was not injured. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the incident, police said.

Police and firefighters had to cut down shrubbery and branches to get down to the car, which was submerged up to the tires.

Corrigan's towing removed the vehicle out of the pond.
