BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A woman who was fatally struck by a pick-up truck on Tuesday in northwest Bakersfield has been identified by the coroner.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Megan Lee Sanders of Bakersfield was walking northbound outside of a crosswalk across eastbound lanes of Rosedale Highway west of Rudd Avenue when she was struck by the vehicle at 6 a.m. Sanders was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver of the truck immediately stopped, returned to the scene and called 911, according to the California Highway Patrol. No other injuries were reported.
