The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a Hope Mills woman.

A Hope Mills woman was shot and killed Friday morning in a neighborhood off Cumberland Road, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Friday afternoon.

Annie Andaluz, 49, was found in the 2300 block of Cumberland Gap Drive just after 11 a.m. According to a news release, deputies responded to a report of a "deceased person" and found Andaluz dead with a gunshot wound.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the release.
