Police found packages stacked up at both the front and back doors of the home, according to a police report.

According to the report, no one answered either door of the home.

“Police did observe numerous flies present on the windows. Due to the above, police did force entry into the residence, due to the belief that the residents inside were either deceased or having a medical emergency,” the report states.

Police spoke with Daniel Klein, 51.

Officers said there was so much trash inside the entryway, it was difficult to fully open the front door.

“Officers detected a foul odor coming from the residence,” according to the report.

Police asked to check on Klein’s mother.

Klein walked them back to a bedroom where he told officers his mother was sleeping.

Police say the woman was lying on the bed with a blanket on her. She was unconscious and breathing, police said.

“Officers then observed her lower half to be covered in dried feces and maggots,” the report states.

Police say the woman also had Ram’s Horn toenails, a fungal infection also known as Onychomycosis.
