MELBOURNE, Fla. — A woman, accused of sexually assaulting a man who was a patient at an assisted living facility, was arrested Monday, according to police reports.
Police said Guettie Belizaire, 39, was found naked in a patient's room at the Brookshire Assisted Living Facility in Melbourne, Florida, when the incident was reported in December.
Belizaire's coworkers notified police just before 5 a.m. Dec. 13 after they couldn't find her for nearly two hours. When officers arrived, she was getting dressed in the patient's bathroom, according to arrest reports.
Police said the patient was suffering from various medical ailments at the time.
The man told officers Belizaire "sexually battered" him and a subsequent sexual assault kit and DNA test confirmed his claims, police said.
A warrant was issued for Belizaire's arrest in March.
She is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of an elderly person and abuse of an elderly person and was booked into the Brevard County Jail.
It was unclear if Belizaire continued to work at the facility after the accusations or if new protocols were put in place to protect patients. Calls to the Brookshire Assisted Living Facility were unreturned as of Monday evening.
