Police said officers shot and killed a gunman who opened fire near the San Antonio International Airport on April 15.
According to the San Antonio Police department, a man was travelling down a roadway near the airport terminal on the wrong side of the road when he was confronted by a police officer. The man then stopped the vehicle and started firing at both the police officer and in the direction of the terminal. Police returned fire, hitting the suspect who was then taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said police were familiar with the man because of previous interactions.
