Woman hit by stray bullet inside Gentilly home, man arrested

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting in the Gentilly area that left a woman wounded.
According to NOPD officers, the shooting happened around 9 a.m. in the 2400 block of Jonquil Street on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Arrest made in fatal January New Orleans East shooting
Investigators said a stray bullet flew through the woman’s home and hit her.
She was taken to a local hospital by car. Details about her condition weren’t released.
The NOPD reported 78-year-old Gerald Brancaccio was arrested as a suspect in the shooting.
