Woman hospitalized after fight with daughter in Fresno County

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office says the 67-year-old woman was involved in a physical disturbance with her 42-year-old daughter.

- New at 4:00-- A 42-year-old woman is now in custody, accused of stabbing and beating her mother, in Fresno County. The Sheriff's Office says that Carrie Drew got into an altercation with her 67-year-old mother in the driveway of a home, near Belmont and De Wolf, just before noon today. A neighbor alerted authorities after hearing screams from next door.

Deputies found the mother with serious injuries to her hands and upper body. She was rushed to a hospital in serious, but stable, condition. Drew left the home before-- while deputies were on the way, but was pulled over in the area of Auberry Road, near Copper. She had her four-year-old son with her. He's doing OK. Drew was arrested on charges of attempted murder and elder abuse.
