Woman killed in Augusta shooting
An unidentified woman is dead after a fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon in Augusta.
Just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 1100 block of Maxwell Street for a shooting, according to a news release.
When deputies arrived, they found a woman who was shot at least once, according to the release. She died from her injuries.
"The investigation is in its early stages and no further information is available," according to the sheriff's office.
