Woman missing from Tooele County found dead, police say

TOOELE, Utah (ABC4) — The 43-year-old Tooele woman who has been missing since last week was found dead, officials with the Tooele City Police Department confirmed on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

Karen Crawford had been missing since Feb. 15, according to her family, after leaving work around 11 a.m. Her black Mazda CX-5 was also missing.

Cpl. Colbey Bentley with the Tooele City PD said in a press release that the department was notified by the Salt Lake City Police Department that the Mazda and Crawford had been located.

“It is with great sadness that we report Mrs. Crawford was found deceased,” said Bentley. “This is an active investigation still, but at this time, we don’t suspect foul play.”

The Tooele City Police Department said their hearts are with Crawford’s family and loved ones at this time of grieving.

Bentley also expressed his gratitude to those in the public who called in with tips regarding the case and to the Salt Lake City Police Department for their help in the investigation.
