Woman from Omaha dies in Minnehaha County crash

An Omaha woman has been identified as the person who died Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash northeast of Sioux Falls, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 64-year-old woman was eastbound on 258th Street when it failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with South Dakota Highway 11. The vehicle collided with a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse that was northbound on South Dakota Highway 11, according to Tony Mangan, spokesperson for the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

All three people involved were wearing seatbelts.
