Woman seriously injured in Monday collision

Oct. 24—A 29-year-old woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision Monday morning in Caldwell County, one mile west of Hamilton, Missouri.

Danielle Dunning, 29, of Maysville, Missouri, was northbound on Business 36 in a 2018 Ford F-150 at about 11:10 a.m. when she failed to stop at a stop sign before crossing U.S. Highway 36. She traveled into the path of Kaytee D. Smith, 33, of Hamilton, Missouri, who was westbound on U.S. 36 in a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse.

Dunning's vehicle came to rest northwest of the intersection, and Smith's vehicle stopped facing north on the southbound shoulder of Business 36, according a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Dunning was taken by ambulance to Liberty Hospital.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the crash report said.
