Woman has a severe allergic reaction while out for a run, and TikTok is concerned: ‘I’m also allergic to running’

There’s not wanting to go for a run. Then, there’s realizing you physically can’t. Based on a recent video, one TikToker seems to fall into the latter category.

Kylen Kuroski (@kyleniguess) shocked many viewers when she posted a video showing the “traumatic” result of her run: a severe allergic reaction.

“literally nothing could have prepared me for this,” she writes.

Kylen is already running at the start of the video and appears to be fine.

“Hi, world,” she starts. “I’m not a runner, but I decided I’m gonna start running… My boyfriend’s way ahead of me ’cause I can’t f****** breathe. I’ll update you on how far I get.”

“I’m never going on a run again. Like, this can’t even be real.”

In the next clip, however, Kylen’s face is swelling up.

“I had to stop running because my face started swelling up, and I’m having an allergic reaction,” she says. “And I don’t know why. And my face is progressively getting more swollen, and hives and my ear drums are burning, and my, like… look at these lines, bro, my whole face. My whole face is swelling up, and I don’t know why right now.”

“I’m never going on a run again. Like, this can’t even be real,” she adds.

As the video continues, Kylen’s reaction worsens.

“OK, update, everyone: My face is very swollen, and I also rolled up my sleeves, and I noticed my arms are covered in hives,” she says. “My hand is swollen… But, yeah. I’m, like, scared for my well-being right now. I’m waiting for my boyfriend…I’m dying, hello, knock on wood.”

“Maybe I’ll just Google what’s wrong with me and play doctor, and hope for the best.”

Finally, Kylen makes it back to her car.

“I’m almost back at my car. So, that’s good,” she says. “I’m not sure if I should just go relax and chill, or if I should like go to … E.R. or something or urgent care. Maybe I’ll just Google what’s wrong with me and play doctor and hope for the best.”

After commenters showed concern for her well-being, Kylen posted a follow-up video.

“After the trail, I went and got some Benadryl, took it, went home and got changed,” she explains. “As I was getting changed, I noticed that my full body reaction was a lot worse than I thought it was, so I went to the CVS Minute Clinic, which was a mistake in itself… because I stood at the counter for 20 minutes, and no one approached me. I was progressively getting, like, really dizzy and, like, light-headed nauseous.”

Some commenters suggested that Kylen had “exercise-induced anaphylaxis,” though she’s unsure if that was actually the cause.

“It could have been that, but I also typically work out four times a week… not necessarily running or running outside, but I do work out a lot. So, I’m not sure if that was it or not,” she says. “But hopefully, like I said, I figure it out sooner than later.”

“Girl go to the hospital next time. Don’t leave your life up to chance. I’m shocked at how you didn’t take this seriously.”

Some commenters were critical of how Kylen chose to handle the situation.

“RN here!! please… Go straight to the ER,” someone wrote. “Anaphylaxis is not something to play with. You got lucky this time. I’m glad your okay.”

“Miss ma’am CVS over the ER? You give me the anxieties! Please go to a DR next time,” another said.

“Girl go to the hospital next time,” one user commented. “Don’t leave your life up to chance. I’m shocked at how you didn’t take this seriously.”

While it’s possible she could’ve handled the situation better, we’re just happy Kylen is healthy and in the process of finding out what could’ve triggered her allergic reaction in the first place.
