Woman shoots into car after blocking its path, gets arrested: Mobile Police

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly stood in the road, blocking a car from getting past her and shooting into that car, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Officers were called to the 2600 block of Murrell Lane around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a shooting, an MPD release said.

SHOOTING LOCATION:

When officers arrived, they found that a man was driving his friend to a home on Murrell Lane when a woman was seen standing in the road and would not move, causing the man to drive around her, according to the release.

The release said the man dropped his friend off before running into the woman again. But this time, she fired shots into the man’s car. Police said the man was not injured.

22-year-old Daveniece Cierra Jones was arrested and taken to Mobile Metro Jail.

Jones remains in jail and is charged with discharging a gun into an occupied vehicle.
