Australian Woman Shows How to Convert Scarf Into Mask

A Canberra woman demonstrated how to convert a scarf into a face covering as COVID-19 cases increased in hotspot states across the country.

The large spike in cases in Victoria, which recorded over 10,500 cases, and a small increase of cases in New South Wales, which saw 3,756 cases on July 31, prompted travel warnings and border closures from other states. Masks were mandatory in Victoria’s metropolis area as of July 22.

Meanwhile, supermarket chain Woolworths asked customers visiting stores in NSW and the ACT to wear face coverings as of August 3.
