Woman’s toes grew back because of prayer, Missouri pastor says. Website wants proof

Following claims from a Missouri pastor that prayer regrew a woman’s amputated toes, a new website is asking for proof.

Without showing photo or video evidence, James River Church pastor John Lindell told his congregation a “creative miracle” took place involving a woman named Krissy Thompson.

The assertion was made during the Week of Power conference held March 12 through March 16 at the Springfield-area church, according to the Springfield News Leader. Lindell was joined by guest speaker Bill Johnson, the senior leader of Bethel Church in Redding, California.

Video from the conference has been removed from the church’s Facebook page, but it remains on social media and the website ShowMeTheToes.com.

Lindell said Thompson was shot three times in 2015 by her husband and had to have three toes amputated. The pastor claims Johnson asked in a prayer group if anyone needed a “creative miracle,” and Thompson responded.

News articles corroborate Lindell’s account of Thompson being shot.

Thompson’s estranged husband, Stephen Thompson, was found guilty of domestic assault following the 2015 incident, KOAM reported. He was also convicted of killing another woman, Carissa Gerard, according to the TV station.

In video shared by the church and later posted on the Show Me The Toes website, Thompson outlined the alleged toe regrowth.

“All the women got down and they prayed over my foot,” Thompson said in video displayed during the conference. “I decided to take my shoe off to see what was happening when (Johnson) said, ‘Let’s see the progress or if anything’s happened.’”

“And when I did,” Thompson continued, “I had to grab the person next to me and say, ‘Do you see what I see?’ And I saw three toes that were forming and now there’s length to them tonight. I can stand on my tippy-toes!”

The pastor, without proof, claimed Thompson’s toes began regrowing within 30 minutes and were longer than her pinky toe. He added that her toenails began to grow within an hour.

As Lindell shared news of the “creative miracle,” the congregation gave a roaring applause and standing ovation.

Johnson said an unnamed doctor verified the toe regrowth, but he also did not provide proof.

The church could not be reached for comment by McClatchy News.

ShowMeTheToes.com is calling for anyone with visual proof of Thompson’s alleged miracle to come forward.

“If you have photographic/video evidence this occurred, provide it and we will share it on this page,” the website says. “So far, James River and Krissy have provided zero proof.”

The pastor later said some members of the church would raise people from the dead.

“I’m not saying everybody will be raised from the dead, I’m just saying some people from this room, you’re going to raise people from the dead,” the pastor said. “It’s just gonna happen.”
