Woman's body found in yard identified
Aug. 4—Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn identified the woman's body found in the front yard of her Northwest Decatur home Sunday as Britney Smith, 32.
Chunn said it could be three or four months before the cause of death is finalized from an autopsy conducted by the state forensics office in Huntsville.
He said "at this point" there appears to be no sign of foul play in Smith's death.
Chunn said the woman's body was discovered sitting in a chair in her front yard in the 200 block of Wilson Street Northwest about 11 a.m. Sunday.
Decatur police are investigating the case.
