According to the American Heart Association, researchers say even a short stint of high blood pressure, at a young age, can affect cognitive decline at a later age. Mercy Medical Center Dr. Ernestine Wright says studies show it can lead to problems with memory loss, cognitive impairment, and loss of executive function later in life.
