Dozens of women gathered on Pittsburgh North Shore on Sunday for a photoshoot to help raise awareness of the health issues that face expectant women, especially Black women.
- This week is Black Maternal Health Week, a week dedicated to new and expectant moms. Today, dozens of women gather on the North Shore for a photo shoot. The goal is to create awareness about the health issues facing all expecting women, especially Black women, who die at an exponentially higher rate during pregnancy and childbirth.
- Dying, Black women especially, are dying two to three times more so than white women. It's a national crisis and overcomplicated issue, but we have the resources and the technology to solve this.
- Organizers say the goal isn't just to raise awareness, but to save lives.
