Some women ready to leave Tennessee over abortion ban

Laura Brown just bought an East Nashville condo, but now she's plotting a move to D.C. Sandra O'Connor just turned down her dream job in Memphis, opting to stay in Michigan. Jennifer Rader is planning a move to Europe with her daughter.

All three pointed to the same reason: Tennessee’s abortion ban — which makes no exception for rape or incest — set to take effect Thursday. The overturning of Roe v. Wade set off a wave of abortion restrictions nationwide, including Tennessee.

“I can’t stay here,” Brown, a Tennessee native, said. “I’m sick and heartbroken over it."
