Zakiyah Franklin and Holly Kersgieter each scored 26 points to lead No. 21 Kansas to a 77-59 win over Texas Tech in a Big 12 Conference women's basketball game Wednesday at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan.

The Jayhawks (12-1 overall, 2-0 conference) scored the first eight points of the game and led 15-5 after the first quarter. The Lady Raiders (12-3, 0-2) never got closer than eight points.

Kansas, which also got 15 points and 18 rebounds from Taiyanna Jackson, went up by as many as 21 in the fourth quarter. The 6-foot-6 Jackson also notched five blocks to propel a smothering defense.

Tech shot 6 of 24 in the first half in falling behind 32-18. The Lady Raiders more than doubled their output in the third quarter but could not slow down the Jayhawks' big three. Jackson, Franklin and Kersgieter entered the week in the top seven for scoring average in the Big 12.

Kansas shot 50% from the field. Kersgieter hit five 3-pointers in notching a season high in points. The Jayhawks also scored 44 points in the paint.

Bre'Amber Scott finished with a team-high 21 points for Tech, which lost consecutive games for the first time. The senior added 11 rebounds and two assists.

Jasmine Shavers (11 points) was the only other Lady Raider in double figures. Tech shot 40.4%, including 22.2% from beyond the arc.

The Lady Raiders will try for their first Big 12 win Saturday on the road at TCU. The Horned Frogs (6-7, 0-2) lost 81-69 to Texas in Fort Worth on Wednesday.
