Women's College World Series sets record with over 2 million viewers for Game 2
Women's sports viewership is on the rise. That trend has been consistent over the last year or so, but was further enforced now that the numbers are in for the Women's College World Series.
Game 2 of the WCWS, which featured Oklahoma and Florida State, averaged over two million viewers, setting a record.

Viewership was up 14 percent compared to Game 2 in 2019. The peak audience for the game jumped to 2.6 million. Those numbers are significant. Only the NBA playoffs has produced more viewers at ESPN since the NFL draft in April.
Oklahoma wins WCWS after forcing a Game 3 against FSU
Game 2 proved to be the turning point in the series. With Oklahoma losing Game 1, the team faced elimination in Game 2. A loss by the Sooners would mean Florida State would walk away as champs. A win would prolong the series and keep Oklahoma alive.
That's precisely what happened. Oklahoma won 6-2, taking Florida State to a do-or-die Game 3. Oklahoma won that contest also, fighting their way back to win the WCWS for the fifth time.
