A special ceremony was held at the Women's Rights Pioneers Monument in the park.

- Our gratitude and respect. A ceremony was held today in Central Park to honor Women's History Month. The observance was held at the Women's Rights Pioneers Monument. This monument features figures of Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Their work and their struggles that along with other women overcame were celebrated today.

SAVONA BAILEY-MCCAIN: My hero is Ida B. Wells. She was a no nonsense woman.

[APPLAUSE]

She went in the face of everybody to say we're not going to be second class citizens.

- The women's Rights Pioneers Monument was unveiled last August. It is the first monument to be added to Central Park since 1965.
