WOMEN'S HOCKEY: Beavers hire Sarah Bobrowski as new assistant coach
Jun. 3—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji State women's hockey team will have a new face behind the bench this season, as head coach Jim Scanlan announced the hiring of Sarah Bobrowski as the program's second assistant coach on Friday.
"We are extremely excited to add Sarah to our Beaver Women's Hockey family," Scanlan said in a news release. "Her values and coaching philosophy align very well with our culture. Her past playing experience and her ability to connect and build relationships will be very beneficial to our players."
Bobrowski comes to BSU after serving as an on-ice instructor with the Ottawa Senators Youth Hockey Program since April 2021. She was also a recruiting coordinator with the organization Next College Student Athlete prior to that.
A native of St. Paul, Bobrowski played three seasons at Lindenwood from 2014-17, where she set the program's single-season record with 19 assists. She was named to the College Hockey America All-Academic Team and the CHA Playoff All-Tournament Team.
She finished her collegiate career at Hamline and earned a place on the all-conference team, led the program to its first Frozen Four appearance, and set the Division III single-game record with nine points.
While attending Hamline, Bobrowski began her coaching career in 2017 as a AAA girls hockey coach for the Minnesota Ice Cougars. She joined the girls hockey coaching staff at Mahtomedi High School from 2018-19.
Bobrowski also played internationally for Eisbaren Berlin in Germany from 2019-20 and finished the season tied as the team's points leader.
The Beavers will begin their 2022-23 season against Lindenwood on Sept. 23-24 at the Sanford Center.
