Forreston softball player Rylee Broshous was the winner of this week's Rockford Register Star athlete of the week poll.
She earned over 40 percent of the vote, and she beat out runner-up Chandler Alderman of North Boone, who earned over 20 percent of the vote.

Broshous hit a home run and went 3-for-3 with 5 RBIs as Forreston (12-2, 4-0 NUIC South) plowed over Dixon 15-4 on Saturday. Broshous and Brooke Boettner hit back-to-back homers in the third.
Voting for the next athlete of the week begins Tuesday. The full list of nominees runs online at rrstar.com on Tuesdays and in print Wednesdays. Winners are announced online Fridays and in print on Sundays.
