Local runners score big at Goodyear Half Marathon and 10K
Stow, Cuyahoga Falls and other local runners fared well on the leader board Saturday in the Goodyear Half Marathon and 10K in Akron.
The event is held annually as the second stage in a race series culminating in the Akron Marathon. This year, the marathon will be Sept. 24.
Saturday’s half-marathon and 10K races started with a lap around the Goodyear Test Track at Goodyear’s Akron Proving Grounds. Participants ran through East Akron and Ellet, finishing under the skywalk at Goodyear’s global headquarters.
In the men’s half-marathon, Stow runners finished first and fourth. Below are the top 10 finishers with race times:

Love conquered the 10K, with couple Alyssa Thomas and Jacob Ondash finishing first in the women’s and men’s race. Marathon organizers called attention to their performance on social media, calling the Cuyahoga Falls residents a “power couple.”
