Ben Henri should be singing a happy tune today.

The 7th through 12th-grade vocal music teacher from St. Clair Shores, Michigan won $100,000 and was crowned champion of the "Jeopardy!" Teachers Tournament in an episode that aired Friday. (The episode was taped in early February before production shutdowns due to COVID-19 began).

By the time the Final Jeopardy! clue in Day 2 of the finals was revealed, Henri says he knew his win was within reach.

The category: "18th Century Novels."

The Clue: "The title character of this 1726 novel reaches 4 different lands as a result of a shipwreck, a storm at sea, pirates & a mutiny."

What made Henri so confident?

“I read ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ in high school and watched the Ted Danson miniseries three or four times growing up," Henri said in a statement. "I also explained it to my quiz bowl students earlier in the school year because it comes up regularly in competition.”

"As soon as the last clue came up on Day 2 of the finals, I threw a party in my head,” Henri said.

Going into Final Jeopardy!, Henri had a slight lead over Meggie Kwait, a 5th and 6th grade humanities teacher from New York who wound up coming in second, earning $50,000. Will Satterwhite, an 8th through12th-grade band and choir teacher from Vinton, Virginia finished in third, taking home $25,000.
