With the cool weather rolling into the Coastal Bend, what better way to get the season started than getting cozy with your loved ones and a warm cup of cocoa to watch classic holiday films.
In partnership with Turner Classic Movies, The Ed Asner Family Center will present a live table read of director Frank Capra's 1946 "It's a Wonderful Life" to honor the life of Asner, who died in August. The virtual table read will have an all-star cast to play memorable roles including Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson and Corpus Christi native Lou Diamond Phillips.
Proceeds will benefit The Ed Asner Family Center, which promotes mental health and enrichment programs to children with special needs and their families. The table read is part of the center's yearly gala.
The one-night only event will take place Sunday at 7 p.m. via Zoom. The table read requires a minimum donation of $25 to view.
