Yelp.com is out with a list of the 10 highest rated eateries in the area, based on reviews published on its website as of Sunday, Jan. 22.

Yelp Inc. is an American company which publishes crowd-sourced reviews of restaurants, bars and other local businesses.

Here are the top 10 most highly recommended restaurants in the area, according to Yelp.com:

1. Prairie Street Brewing Company, 200 Prairie St., Rockford 

Upscale pub fare & beer served in old-fashioned quarters with outdoor seats overlooking the Rock River.

2. Tavern on Clark, 755 Clark Drive, Rockford

Tavern on Clark offers a tavern menu of burgers and sandwiches plus an expansive list of beers, wine & spirits.

3. Greenfire Restaurant Bar & Bakery, 6795 E. Riverside Blvd., Rockford
