Woodbury's Wooddale Fun Zone Closes Permanently After 46 Years

WOODBURY, MN — Wooddale Fun Zone, the beloved roller skating rink in Woodbury that has been operating for nearly five decades, announced Monday it will close permanently. The rink said the decision came after "after exhausting all options."

"This decision was very painful as we have been a part of this community for 46 years and have developed so many great relationships," Kevin Sahly, the rink's owner, said in a statement.

"We know that this will be very disappointing to all of you as well. We feel fortunate and blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of your lives whether it was weekly skating, a birthday party, school field trip or just a random day of FUN. We appreciate every one of you and thank you for all your support thru the years. We hope you will all continue your passion for skating and continue engaging your families in healthy, social activities. Thank you for all the great memories!"

Wooddale Fun Zone is the latest in a quickly-growing list of businesses in Minnesota that have closed amid the health and economic crisis caused by coronavirus.
