Woodlawn Health adds occupational nurse practitioner

Oct. 9—Woodlawn Health announced that they have added Kyle Sommers as an occupational nurse practitioner.

Sommers began working for Woodlawn in the emergency department in 2019-2020. During that time and extending into 2021, she also worked as a nurse and then an office manager for 12 occupational health clinics outside of the Woodlawn Health network.

In 2022, Sommers returned to Woodlawn and completed her clinicals and then came back to the hospital after graduating.

Sommers earned her RN from Ivy Tech-Valparaiso. She went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from IU-South Bend in 2011. In 2023, she completed her Master of Science in nursing from Chamberlain University and became a family nurse practitioner MSN-FNP.

Kyle will be part of a new service coming soon to the community.

"We are excited to be able to bring Kyle back to work for Woodlawn," said Brad Rogers, COO of Woodlawn Health. "She will greatly benefit our community, especially the local employers."
