The building was empty when it caught fire and there are no reported injuries, Harris said. Nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

Loren Lacy, 28, who works for New Life Orthopedics and Prosthetics nearby, said she smelled smoke, went up to the roof of her building and saw a fire. She said they evacuated their patients just as the fire trucks were arriving.

The fire department is asking residents to avoid the area.

This is the second restaurant or bar in the area to experience a blaze in the past month — Traffic Jam & Snug in Midtown is closed after a May 27 fire.
