Woodward-Granger High School announces 2023 homecoming court
Woodward-Granger's 2023 Homecoming Court was recently announced.
King candidates include Blake Tuel, Garrett Hansen, Bryan Jesse, Ethan Jones and Tanner Ramsey. Queen candidates include Maddie Sus, McKenna Carroll, Libby Grell, Ella Bearbower and Georgia Simmons.
Homecoming week will kick off on Monday, Sept. 11 and will run through Saturday, Sept. 16.
The high school dress-up days will include:
Monday, Sept. 11: BBQ Dad & Soccer Mom
Tuesday, Sept. 12: Jersey Day
Wednesday, Sept. 13: On Wednesday's We Wear Pink
Thursday, Sept. 14: Class Color Day & Anything But A Backpack
Freshmen, Purple; Sophomores, Red; Juniors, Blue; Seniors, White; Teachers, Black
Friday, Sept. 15: Spirit Day
The ironman volleyball and powderpuff games will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13.
The homecoming parade will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14. The parade will start lining up at 5 p.m. at the corner of 8th and Cherry St. The Woodward-Granger Booster Club will host a homecoming dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The menu includes pulled pork sandwich or hot dog, cheesy potatoes, chips, drink and dessert. Free-will donations (cash or Venmo) will be taken. The coronation ceremony will follow at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.
A pep rally will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15. The Woodward-Granger Hawks will take on Nodaway Valley at 7 p.m. at Hawk Stadium in varsity football action. Gates will open at 6 p.m.
Homecoming dances will wrap up the week on Saturday, Sept. 16. The middle school dance will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the elementary gym. The high school dance will be held from 8-10 p.m. in the high school commons.
