Woolwich ShopRite nearly done construction. When will the grocery store open?

WOOLWICH TWP. — A push underway since 2018 to open a modern supermarket near the township population center is nosing the finish line, according to Zallie Family Markets.

Work crews continued to swarm the ShopRite of Center Square Plaza on Monday and its entrance monument still needs a sign, but shoppers will get their first taste this Thursday. The store will open at 10 a.m. on May 25.

The nearly 78,000-square-foot store will have its grand opening on Sunday, June 4.

The supermarket at 65 Center Square Road will be the 12th store under the Zallie brand. It replaces ShopRite of Gibbsboro, which closed in mid-April.

The supermarket’s notable services include: What’s For Dinner Solutions; hot food bar and “wokery”; catering; order placement for pick up or delivery; an international cheeses department; floral and gift department; and an indoor and outdoor, sit-down café.

Woolwich Township will have a new supermarket as of June 4, 2023. ShopRite of Center Square Plaza is nearing completion in Woolwich Township. Woolwich is not the only South Jersey location that Zallie Family Markets has invested heavily in since 2022.

Founded 50 years ago, Zallie relaunched its Glassboro site on April 30 after a complicated expansion and renovation project. The store, at 201 William Dalton Drive, remained open during the work.

With its added space, the reconfigured store now has a Cheese & Charcuteries Island; a Sushi & Wok Station; and a grill and café area. It also opened a dedicated space for its online shopping service.
