With improved field conditions in Buffalo, the Worcester Red Sox are due to play a makeup doubleheader on Friday.
The first game at Sahlen Field begins at 5:05 p.m., with the next one to start soon after. Both games will be seven innings.
The Bisons and WooSox were slated to begin a six-game series starting Tuesday, but rain and problems with the field tarp upended baseball plans, leading to a muddy infield and forcing the postponement of games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
After Friday's twin bill, there will be a single game on Saturday and another makeup doubleheader on Sunday.
That leaves one game of the scheduled six-game series unplayed. That game will be made up at Polar Park in May when the Bisons are slated to visit Worcester for a six-game series. It will now be a seven-game series. The date of the game has not been determined.
Meantime, the next home game for the WooSox is Tuesday, when the Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) come to Worcester for a six-game series.
