BOSTON — A Worcester couple were indicted Wednesday in federal court on sex trafficking charges for allegedly forcing a person into prostitution at locations across four New England states.

Between February and May 2022, Kiersten Soto, 29, and Moises Soto, 30, allegedly used facilities in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island to force a victim into sex services.

According to a press release from the office of the U.S. Attorney Rachael S. Rollins, the couple were detained Friday.

They were ordered detained after an appearance in Boston before U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Donald L. Cabell.

The Sotos were each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking; one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion; and one count of traveling or using interstate facilities to promote unlawful activities.
