Worcester Hosts Free Coronavirus Test, Flu Shot Event

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester will host another coronavirus testing event on Wednesday, this time at the Lakeside Apartments in the Columbus Park neighborhood.

The testing comes as Worcester has seen a rising trend in cases recently. On Sept. 3, the city reported 98 new cases — the highest in a single week since early July, and the second week in a row when cases increased.

The free testing event comes courtesy of UMass Memorial, the city and the state's Stop the Spread program. Worcester has had a handful of one-day testing events in recent weeks. The Tuesday event at the Lakeside Apartments will also offer free masks and hand sanitizer, and free flu shots (bring your health insurance card).

The walk-up event runs 2 to 6 p.m. at 42 Lakeside Ave.
