Worcester's Redemption Rock Brewery Hosting 3rd Anniversary Party

WORCESTER, MA — Perhaps one of the most unique breweries in Massachusetts will celebrate its third anniversary on Saturday with a day full of beer, food and music.

CEO Dani Babineau and brewer Greg Carlson opened Redemption Rock opened in a former industrial space off Shrewsbury Street in January 2019. The brewery has gone through a variety of upgrades since, even with most of its existence under the shackles of the coronavirus pandemic.

The brewer built a new patio in 2020, offering an outdoor refuge during the earliest days of the pandemic. The taproom also introduced espresso drinks in September to complement an array of non-beer beverages already on offer, from pour-over specialty coffee to kombucha.

More than a year ago, Redemption Rock became the first B Corporation-certified brewery in the state. That legal standard means all business decisions has adhere to certain social and environmental rules. The brewery has committed to sending at least 1 percent of revenue to local nonprofits, hiring only local residents, paying salaries to all employees and reducing waste and water consumption.

The beer selection is also varied and specific to Worcester — like the Three Decker helles lager, the Blackstone dry Irish stout and the War Castle (an olde English translation of "Worcester") New England IPA.

Saturday's third anniversary party begins at 11 a.m. Here's the food and music lineup:

  • 2 to 5 p.m. — The Burgundian food truck

  • 2 to 4 p.m. — Live music by Amanda Cote

  • 5 to 10 p.m. — Say Cheese food truck

  • 6 to 9 p.m. — Live music by Giuliano and special guests
