Worker at Crestview Hills daycare charged with sexual abuse, court documents say
A Northern Kentucky daycare worker is facing a charge of sexual abuse in Kenton County, according to court documents.
Ryan Sydnor, 29, of Falmouth, Kentucky, is charged with a single count of first-degree sexual abuse, according to court records filed in Kenton County District Court.
A criminal complaint states that Lakeside Park-Crestview Hills police were contacted on Feb. 6 regarding a report of sexual abuse involving a 4-year-old girl and a worker at her daycare, Imaginations Abound Early Learning Center in Crestview Hills.
The girl told her mother the previous day that Sydnor had abused her, the complaint states.
Police interviewed the girl at the Northern Kentucky Children's Advocacy Center and she told investigators Sydnor would touch her inappropriately "during nap time in the play kitchen area of the daycare," the complaint reads.
The girl said Sydnor would lay on the floor between her and another juvenile and that the abuse happened on more than one occasion, according to the complaint.
The kitchen play area is out of view of the two cameras located inside the classroom, the document says, adding Sydnor was captured on video in one instance carrying two sleeping bags to the play area and remaining there with the girl for an extended period of time.
Investigators interviewed Sydnor, who denied the allegations and "made disclosures of abuse where he was the victim," adding that the girl "would make him uncomfortable," the complaint reads.
Police interviewed another juvenile, who said Sydnor would lay on the floor and sleep with her and the four-year-old girl, though she didn't disclose anything about abuse, according to the complaint.
Attorney information for Sydnor was unavailable Wednesday evening.
Jail records show Sydnor was booked into the Kenton County Detention Center Monday. He's currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
Court records show he's next expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing July 19.
