World AIDS Day in Asbury Park remembered with candlelight walk

ASBURY PARK - The Center in Asbury Park, in conjunction with Trinity Church, Thursday hosted a candlelight walk followed by a service at Trinity Church to mark the 34th annual World AIDS Day.

Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day takes place on Dec. 1 each year and serves as an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.

For 30 years, The Center in Asbury Park has been commemorating World AIDS Day.

The Asbury Park event began with a candlelight walk from The Center in Asbury Park to Trinity Church and ended with a service at Trinity Church.
